The "cartridge heater" is a rod-shaped heater that encloses a coiled heating wire (nichrome wire) within a metal pipe, insulated with magnesium oxide. It is similar to a sheath heater, but since the power supply wire exits from one end face, the wiring is simple and neat. It is strong due to its compressed reduced diameter, and the surface of the pipe is also finished with high precision polishing, allowing for efficient heat conduction to the heated object.
